Need Help to Hire FBA Automation Expert

I’ve worked with a couple of Amazon store managers over the years, and my biggest advice is not to rush the hiring process. A good FBA Automation Expert should be able to explain their process clearly instead of just promising “passive income” or unrealistic sales numbers.

Here are a few things I’d personally check before hiring someone:

  • Experience with real Amazon stores
Ask for examples of stores they’ve managed, what categories they worked in, and what challenges they handled. Anyone serious should be able to talk about inventory issues, PPC optimization, supplier coordination, account health, etc.
  • Understanding of Amazon policies
This is a huge one. Amazon suspensions can happen fast if someone uses risky methods. Make sure they follow Amazon’s terms and don’t rely on shady reviews, fake tracking, or black-hat tactics.
  • Communication and reporting
A reliable expert should provide regular updates and performance reports. If someone disappears for days or avoids answering direct questions, that’s usually a bad sign.
  • Product research strategy
Ask how they choose products. Good answers usually involve demand analysis, competition checks, profit margins, and supplier research — not just “trending products.”
  • Transparency about costs
Be careful with people who only talk about profits but avoid discussing ad spend, storage fees, returns, or supplier costs. Amazon FBA has a lot of moving parts financially.

A few red flags I’ve personally seen:

  • Guaranteed income claims
  • Pressure to invest quickly
  • No clear contract or service agreement
  • Vague answers about sourcing and fulfillment
  • No long-term support after setup

One thing that helped me was starting with a smaller trial project first instead of handing over the entire store immediately. That gave me time to see how organized and knowledgeable the person actually was.

At the end of the day, the best FBA Automation Expert is someone who treats the business realistically and focuses on sustainable growth instead of hype.
