How do you fix Hindi text showing as unreadable characters online?

I’ve been working with some Hindi typing content and ran into a frustrating issue. The text looks perfectly fine on my system, but when I paste it into a website or send it to someone, it turns into random unreadable characters.

After digging into it, I found that this usually happens when the text is written in legacy fonts like KrutiDev, which aren’t Unicode-based. Because of that, the content only displays correctly if the same font is installed on the other device.

To solve this, I started converting my text from krutidev to unicode before using it online. This completely fixed the issue, since Unicode text works across all platforms, browsers, and devices without any compatibility problems.

Since making this change, sharing content has become much easier and more reliable.
