Aloe plants can be cultivated in the bright and indirect sunlight. Put them close to a sunny window where they can get about 6-8 hours of sunlight in a day. Although they can withstand a bit of direct sunlight, excess of intensive sunlight can lead to the leaves turning brown or reddish. A south- or west-facing window is preferable, in case of growing indoors. Partially shaded areas are best in hot climates outdoors. When it is properly lit it will keep the plant green, and will aid in its healthy growth and to ensure that it is not leggy or weak.
