Through this course, let us bust a few myths and perceptions about learning and teaching Social Studies. We will explore the purpose of Social Studies in our curriculum and the skills and mindsets it aims to build in our students.

Throughout the years, Social Studies(SST) has been given a place below Math and Science and through this course we investigate the reason behind this. Social Studies is a very relevant subject for today’s world and for building the 21st century skills in students.

This course provides a zoomed out view on the “WHY” behind the inclusion of Social Studies in our curriculum. It is a pre-cursor to Social Studies Instruction II, where we will look at strategies to teach SST effectively.
