The children of India are growing up in a rapidly changing and increasingly complex world. Beneath that volatility, we recognize, the immense potential and spirit that each child holds. Never before has the need to develop future citizens of India – people who are working to build a better India - been more important. We need young people who are growing up with a desire and a commitment to ensure that India is a country that flourishes and works for every one of its people. At the heart of that development are, we believe, three things that every rising citizen must embody and hold: a quest to instill pride for our great country; to build an awareness of the responsibility we each hold; and to commit to both sacrifice and service for a better tomorrow.

The India & I Studies is an effort to build those future citizens. Rooted in the many facets underlying citizenship, pride, and service, the Studies aim to help learners grapple with what it means to drive change and to embody Gandhi’s ultimate adage: we are the change we wish to see.

The purpose of this course is for educators to familiarise themselves with the many aspects of this journey and feel equipped and excited to execute the India and I Studies in their classrooms. This course is designed for in-service educators, teaching grades 3-8, who are curious to know more about the India and I Studies and/or excited to implement it in their classrooms.
