As a result of this course, teachers will explore classroom management systems they can set up in their classroom to ensure they are maximizing learning and practice time in their classroom. It will help to ensure that teachers begin teaching content with structures already in place all the while building investment in students

Course Overview:

Through this course, teachers will be able to dissect classroom culture into classroom management and classroom investment. They will deep dive into classroom management and learn about the role of classroom culture in providing excellent education. As teachers, you will be able to learn various classroom strategies that you can use from the very next day in your classroom and create an excellent classroom culture in your class.

  • E-5 Implement and practice time- saving procedures (for transitions, dissemination and collection of supplies or homework, etc.) to maximize time spent on learning: 
  1. Explains procedures clearly when needed, sometimes avoiding in-depth directions because more than half the students know and follow established procedures
  2. "Effectively reinforces procedures when they break down"
  3. Most procedures run adequately with teacher's facilitation and/or intervention 

 

  • E-4 Communicates high expectations for behavior by teaching, practicing and reinforcing rules and consequences so that students are focused on working hard: 
  1. Communicates expectations clearly and assertively as necessary, sometimes avoiding in depth discussions of expectations because they are reasonably established
